From the Bahamas to the Fort Worth area, one local entrepreneur is turning her love of baking, travel, and celebration into something truly special.
Originally from the Bahamas, Patyence (Pae) Buil now calls the Fort Worth area home. Her journey to becoming a local entrepreneur began with three things she has always loved: bringing people together, creating delicious food, and making memories.
That passion eventually became Pae Creates, a business inspired by her love of baking and experimenting with different rums to create cakes and desserts that are not only delicious, but also memorable and unique.
For Pae, food is about more than what is on the plate. It is about the experiences and connections that happen around it.
“I’ve always loved bringing people together through food, travel, and celebration,” she shares. “Baking is one of my greatest joys—especially experimenting with different rums to create cakes and desserts that are delicious, memorable, and unique.”

Finding Community in the Fort Worth Area
One of Pae’s favorite things about living in the community is the abundance of opportunities for people to come together.
Her favorite part? The community gatherings and seasonal activities that bring families, friends, and neighbors together throughout the year.
And when it comes to the people who have helped her along the way, she doesn’t have to look far. Her family and friends have been her biggest supporters and continue to serve as her personal heroes and mentors.
From Future Lawyer to Entrepreneur
Interestingly, baking wasn't always the career Pae imagined for herself.
Growing up, she thought she would become a lawyer. Her family even encouraged the idea because, as she puts it, she was naturally “debative” and always questioning things.
But eventually, those questions led her in an entirely different direction.
She realized that her true passion was baking and creating special moments and memories for others. Instead of ignoring the questions she had about her life and future, she leaned into them—and discovered answers that changed the course of her life.
Her story offers an inspiring reminder that sometimes, asking questions can open doors we never expected to walk through.
“Ask the right questions, and be ready for the answers it will provide!” she says.
Looking Toward the Future
Five years from now, Pae hopes to have a self-sustaining business that gives her more freedom to enjoy two of the things she values most: traveling and spending time with family.
Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple but powerful: never give up, and don't be afraid to question your life choices.
Starting and growing a business isn't always easy, but finding something you genuinely love can make the journey worthwhile.
As Pae puts it:
“Life is hard, but loving what you do comes easy!”
